On 22 August 2007, one of the most wonderful creatures that ever lived ended her lovely, loving life.  My wonderful kitty, Molly aka Mollygurl, passed away.  Yesterday was a full year since her passing.  I never knew how much love I could ever have for a pet.  My home changed that day and I miss her every single day.  I have been fortunate enough to have a few dreams of her.  She’s happy, healthy, her shiny, long coat is blowing in the breeze and she’s trotting along outside.  It’s such a comfort when I have those dreams.

She had intestinal cancer.  She got sick suddenly and died quickly.  Within a matter of days she was gone.  I spent days taking her back and forth to the vet there in the end.  The staff tried to prepare me.  I watched her suffer for 2 days and I could not take it any longer.  The doctor’s were trying to save her, but she wasn’t responding.  I was able to take her to work with me and take care of her and feed her but she wasn’t improving.  I finally decided the morning of 22 August 2007, that it was time.  I had to let her go and I had to let the doctor’s put her to sleep.  I talked to her and told her that I didn’t want to do it, that I loved her so much, but that I couldn’t let her suffer.  I am not the most profoundly religious person, but I am spiritual.  I prayed that God would just take her because I wasn’t sure I could actually make the request.  We got to the vet’s office, she in my arms.  I held her and stroked her head and kissed her and talked to her.  I was waiting and I had told the receptionist why I was there.  Then, Molly took a deep breath that sounded like a rattle in her tiny chest and then she was gone.  I continued to hold her and just weep.  The nurse came for me, they didn’t know yet that she had gone.  We got into the exam room and the vet declared her dead.  They were so kind to me and her.  They gave us some time together.  They held her so delicately and kindly.

I made the decision to have her cremated.  She now sits at her favorite window looking out over the farmland where I live.  She is surrounded by pictures of her when she was in her beautiful prime as well as pictures of her with my other 2 kitties. I have sympathy cards and some of her trinkets there too.  It isn’t the same.  It SO isn’t the same.  But, when her ashes were given to me, I felt this energy there.  One of my co-workers noticed it too.  Somehow, having her ashes with me comforts me.

She lived a long life.  She was about 20 years old when she passed.  She is missed every single day and I hope that other pet owners know the same joy that she brought into my life.  My other 2 kitties are special too, but they each had their own personality.  I do miss Molly’s.

So, God Rest My Molly’s Soul and I hope to see her again one day, if only in my dreams.

I recently started my own little side business.  I am now an Avon representative.  I have used Avon products all my life and its a company I know has quality products.  My very first, favorite necklace was an Avon product.  It had a pink ice cream cone, and a green pickle on it.  As a matter of a fact, I am wearing it in my Kindergarten picture.

So, if you would like to check out Avon products and if you see anything you would like to order, feel free to do so!  Go to:

I haven’t posted in a while

I haven’t posted a blog in a while.   My reasons for blogging are varied from sharing the information I obtain from my profession because I think people should know about HIV/AIDS and I tend to get the latest news….to voicing my opinion on things and people I find personally interesting….to my political opinion….to well, anything I fancy that day.  I have had a number of these things cross my path over the last month or so, but honestly, I have been superbusy with work followed by painfully ill.

Since I work for a non-profit, we have a lot of volunteering outside of the normal 40 hours.  I am a firm supporter in what we do for the community so I try to do as much as I can to give of myself.  This has left me little time for blogging.  That in addition to traveling for training with work has also been necessary.

Personally, I have recently suffered from some serious abdominal pain.  This has occured over the last two weeks.  I am undergoing testing to find out what is going on, but in the meantime, I’ve had quite a rough time of it.  Currently the doctor is keeping me out of pain with some really great medication  :)   and I am trucking foward to finding out what the problem is.  The “best guess” right now is kidney stones.  I am undergoing a CT scan this upcoming week to see if that indeed is the issue.

So, I am sorry that I have not blogged because believe me, I have lots to say, but life sometimes is like that.  Anywho…later!

Couple of odd pieces of news came my way, Thought I’d share…

Lebanon, Indiana:  A woman stabbed herself in the foot with a sword.  She was practicing a wiccan ritual.  She was giving thanks for a run of good luck.  She had performed the ritual before, but never stabbed herself before.  She took the sword out and her coven took her to the hospital.  Looks like she’ll be okay.  Little side note: They were in a cemetary after hours, which they were made aware that they had been tresspassing.  Maybe she wasn’t in such a great string of luck after all.

Omaha, Nebraska:  An elderly woman was found to have 117 cats in her home, as well as a couple other species.  She was caught stealing cat food while smelling like cat pee.  The cats have been confiscated and the authorities said that there were cat feces all over the floor, some dead cats and some very sick cats.  Little side note on this one:  She was busted a while back with over 200 cats in her home that were confiscated then.  I am a cat lover and owner, but I know my limit!

Amy Winehouse's Wax Figure Debuts in London | Amy Winehouse

Today Amy Winehouse’s wax likeness was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in London.  Her parents were there, but she was absent from the big reveal.  I hope she wasn’t getting high.  I do still hold out hope that she’ll pull it together, although, at times it evades me.  I sure do wish she still looked like her wax image.  She looks healthier made of wax than she does in real life.  Sad.  Oh well…at least we can have the memory.

Omarosa and Wendy Williams

Omarosa and Wendy Williams went at on Wendy’s talk show.  Omarosa was on the first season of The Apprentice and I grew to greatly dislike her back then.  She is obnoxious and annoying all wrapped into one.  She came on the show wanting to be indignant with Wendy from jump.  She was defensive fromt he moment she opened her mouth.  She insulted Wendy and was very very rude.  Now Wendy Williams can be hard to take at times, but I do respect her because she is fearless.  I don’t think she should have “outed” Method Man’s wife’s cancer treatment, but that’s irrelevant to what happened today.  I have to give it to Wendy, you could tell she was PISSED!  I would have been too.  I was watching like, “is she really actually saying and acting like that?”.  (about Omarosa).  Anyway, go to youtube, search Wendy Williams and Omarosa and watch for yourself…www.youtube.com.  I was shocked and amazed.

Green’s Supper Club

So, last night I was convinced by some of my girlfriends to go with them to Green’s Supper Club on HWY 29 right outside of Greensboro, NC.  It was bike night.  The male to female ration is 5:1.  With those odds, even ugly girls can get some play!  lol

It was actually quite fun!  There is a big dance floor, kareoke, and 3 sections to the restaurant.  There was a little something for everyone.  It was definately entertaining.  However, it was a bit odd that Kareoke involved mostly country music, yet the dance floor was mostly rap.  AND the same people were getting down both ways!  I did like the fact that there was some ethnic diversity, which showed me that everyone was welcome and I really like going to bars that have that attitude!

So, every Thursday is Bike Night and there isn’t a cover charge!  I definately plan to go back and dance the night away once again!  Maybe I’ll see you there!

Hello world!

Hello world.  My name is Carol Napier and I am a 36 year old social worker for an HIV/AIDS program.  I live in a rural town and work in a slightly larger town.  I live in one state and work in another. (live on the border).  I am a bleeding heart liberal which of course makes me a Democrat politically.

I have a lot of varied interests and plan to use this forum to express my opinion.  Please keep in mind it’s MY opinion.  Not everyone will agree with me or like what I say, but I am not one to let that deter me from expressing myself.

So, this is my blog.  I hope you find it to be interesting, even if you don’t agree with me at times.  So, enjoy!
